SIRI:)
You’re reading about a new popular diet that promises significant and rapid weight loss. “Siri, please find this diet quickly.”
All sorts of celebrities are embracing this new diet, so it must be good. They’ve become extremely thin in no time, even though they were already thin to begin with. When looking in the mirror this morning you noticed that you had gained some weight again, so a new diet is very welcome. You’re willing to give it another try, hoping that this might finally be the one that works.
Social media
On social media, you see people doing all sorts of things to become thin, and often they succeed. You too wished you had a body like that, but no matter how much you exercise or follow the exact same diet, you’ll never look like someone else because you are unique. The approach that works for someone else might not work for you at all. And even if you lose a significant amount of weight, you still won’t look like someone else because you are you.
Nutritional information often comes from social media, magazines, or books. And when a particular diet doesn’t work for you, you feel like you’re failing. But it’s not you failing with a diet, it’s the diet failing you. The truth is, there is no one-size-fits-all diet that works for everyone.
You are unique
Bio-individuality lies at the heart of my coaching philosophy, recognizing the extraordinary uniqueness within each and every one of us. As a graduate of The Institute of Integrative Nutrition®, I have embraced this core principle and understand its importance. Bio-individuality signifies that your needs are unlike anyone else’s. We are all different in what nourishes our bodies, minds, and souls – particularly in the realms of nutrition, lifestyle, and personal fulfillment.
What brings you optimal health and happiness may not have the same effect on your family, friends, or even other women. It is simply impossible for all of us to have identical needs. There is no one-size-fits-all solution; it is just not as straightforward as making the so-called “right choices.” Instead, it is a journey of self-discovery, an ongoing exploration of what resonates with you and you only.
No rigidity
Embrace the notion that what serves you today may evolve over time. It is natural for your needs to shift as you progress through different stages. And that is perfectly fine – it is an integral part of your personal growth. Rather than clinging to a rigid approach, let’s go on a journey of experimentation and adaptation. Together, we will uncover the lifestyle, nutrition, and overall well-being practices that align harmoniously with your uniqueness. Embracing bio-individuality empowers you to create a vibrant and fulfilling life tailored specifically to you, ensuring your continuous growth and well-being.
What works for YOU
I highly recommend exploring what works best for you and trusting your body, listening to it carefully, rather than relying on another book or a celebrity promising miracles. You can never fail in a diet that you create for your unique self, so put your energy into that.
You can start right away with a few things that you can always do regardless of the situation, and they will make you feel better and more energized:
- Reduce meat, milk, sugar, and processed food.
- Decrease coffee and alcohol consumption.
- Increase fruit, vegetables, and unprocessed foods.
- Consume good proteins.
- Drink enough water.
- Get sufficient rest.
Just start with these steps. Listen closely to your body—it’s trial and error, but keep trying. Add healthier foods to your diet so that you naturally start avoiding things that are less healthy for your body. When you incorporate more fruit, vegetables, and water, it will naturally lead to consuming less caffeine, sugar, and processed foods. Do this at your own pace; you can start with one thing and gradually add more. If you prefer to do everything at once, that’s fine too. Remember, you’re unique, and you do what you need to do.
The next time you come across another diet, you will scroll past it with peace of mind. You know what is good for your body and what makes you feel fit, happy, and healthy, sorry Siri:)
